USC admitted about 26% of transfer applicants for fall 2026, and the middle 50% of admits had GPAs of 3.76–4.00. USC uses the Common Application, not the UC application, and the deadline for most programs is February 15, 2027. USC has no minimum units or GPA, but business, engineering and some other majors expect specific courses before you transfer.

Equivalent of USC Writing 130 (expected for CA community college students)
At least one full year of college coursework recommended

Major Preparation

Major-specific preparation is critical, especially for competitive schools within USC:

Marshall (Business), Viterbi (Engineering), and Dornsife (Arts & Sciences) have distinct requirements

USC maintains articulation agreements with California community colleges
Science, engineering, architecture, and business require specific lower-division coursework
